The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the preliminary exam schedule for the recruitment of 474 vacancies for the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2026. Candidates slated to appear for the exams can check the full schedule on the official website at upsc.gov.in.

The exam will be conducted on February 8, 2026 (Sunday) in two shifts:

9:30 AM to 11:30 AM — General Studies and Engineering Aptitude Paper (Paper-I)

2 PM to 5 PM — Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Telecom Engineering (discipline specific paper)

Both papers will feature objective type questions. Paper I will be conducted for two hours consisting of 200 marks while paper II will be held for three hours and 300 marks. Candidates are advised to reach at least 30 minute
