SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Despite a strong season, the San Diego State University Aztecs football team continues to struggle with attendance at Snapdragon Stadium.
San Diego County District 5 Supervisor and SDSU alum Jim Desmond pointed the finger at ticket prices at a time when the cost of living in the county is already high.
“It's just kind of sad to have a great record -- the San Diego Aztecs they’re 7-1 right now and to hear complaints that they’re barely filling up half the stadium in some cases," said Desmond.
He noted the price of tickets when browsing online recently.
“Well, the range was from as low as $80 to up to $200, so if you want decent seats even at $80 if it's a family of four or something like that or even taking your kids to the game, it gets pretty pricey.”
