The Assam Government is gearing up for one of its largest eviction operations yet, targeting 1143 bighas of encroached land in the Dahikata Reserve Forest area of Goalpara district.

The mega drive, scheduled for November 9 and 10, aims to reclaim government forest land illegally occupied for years.

According to officials, all necessary preparations have been completed, and notices have been served to illegal occupants well ahead of the operation.

The administration has assured that the eviction will be carried out in coordination with the police and forest departments to ensure a smooth and peaceful process.
