An Evansville church is looking for volunteers to help its members pack a half-million meals as part of the Feed My Starving Children program.
Blue Grass Church, on Evansville's North Side, will gather 2,600 volunteers at its church (14320 Cemetery Road) and at the Vanderburgh County 4-H Center Auditorium (201 E. Boonville-New Harmony Road) from Nov. 20-23 to pack 500,000 meals.
It's a massive undertaking between the church and the Christian non-profit organization. Meals prepared as part of the Feed My Starving Children program "are packed primarily by volunteers, then sent to a network of partner organizations that stay with communities for the long haul, empowering them to move from relief to development," according to a news release from church officials.
