On October 19, Etihad Airways introduced the Airbus A350-1000 between Abu Dhabi and Sydney. While that variant currently does not exclusively operate the route, it became Australia's sole A350-1000-operated service , at least for now. Of course, Qantas will have the long-range, high-capacity variant next year .

What about Cathay Pacific? According to Flightradar24 , the oneworld member last flew the high-capacity variant from Sydney back to Hong Kong on October 18. Perth last saw it on October 17, while Melbourne did so on September 6. While it may change , the latest OAG data shows that Cathay has not scheduled the A350-1000 to Australia in 2026.
