North Melbourne have extended their win-streak to an unprecedented 25 games in a heated qualifying final clash against modern AFLW rivals Hawthorn .

The untouchable Roos thumped the goalless Hawks by 39 points at Ikon Park on Friday night, but the 5.12 (42) to 0.3 (3) scoreline didn’t reflect the spice and fury with which the game was played.

Boos rained down on the stadium on the stroke of three-quarter time when North veteran Emma Kearney was dropped to the ground by Hawks defender Greta Bodey after trying to fire the crowd up.

“Yeah so what’s happened here, behind play Emma Kearney was trying to get the crowd involved and, behind play, Greta Bodey’s just dropped the shoulder,” Kate McCarthy said on Channel 7.
