A local coffee roaster is having to treat for pests following a recent inspection.
Routine restaurant inspections happen two to three times per year based on priority and location of Columbia restaurants, Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services previously has said. Follow-up inspections happen if a critical violation is found. Restaurants usually can correct noncritical violations by the next routine inspection. Reports are from Oct. 28 through Monday, Nov. 3, unless otherwise noted.
The inspector found evidence of cockroaches Nov. 3 in a dry storage area at Shortwave Coffee Roastery, 915 Alley A (downtown district). The business will have to bring in a contracted pest control company and provide records to the inspector by Nov. 10 of the treatment.
