CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo - Three people have been cited for poaching after Missouri conservation agents say they illegally harvested hundreds of fish from a small stream in Camden County.

Conservation Agent Justin Emery said he caught the individuals in September using throw nets to take fish illegally. The group was found with 14 smallmouth bass, 28 redear sunfish, 237 suckers and 713 other bait fish.

All three pleaded guilty to the charges and were issued penalties by the Camden County court. A fourth person pictured with the group was not directly involved and was not charged.

The Missouri Department of Conservation reminds the public that poaching is illegal and to report suspicious activity to the Operation Game Thief Hotline at 1-800-392-1111.
