The sixth-seeded Sherwood Bowmen (7-2) play host to the No. 11 Grants Pass Cavemen (6-3) on Friday night in a 6A Oregon high school football playoffs first-round matchup .

Coach Mark Gribble’s Bowmen won the Pacific Conference championship with a 5-0 conference record. They are led by Pacific Conference defensive player of the year Jack Wilson at safety and Pacific defensive lineman of the year Isaac Bean , along with several other all-conference selections .

The Cavemen, coached by Matt Kennedy, finished second in 6A Special District 1 with a 6-2 league record. They enter the playoffs on a two-game win streak, including last week’s 31-28 victory at West Salem.
