James Bond legend Lee Tamahori has sadly passed away at the age of 75. ‌

The Kiwi director, best known for directing Die Another Day in 2002 with Pierce Brosnan as the iconic 007 spy and a soundtrack led by Madonna , succumbed after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease , reports the Mirror . ‌

His family released a statement saying: "His legacy endures with his whānau, his mokopuna, every filmmaker he inspired, every boundary he broke, and every story he told with his genius eye and honest heart.
