Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed that the BDD Chawl redevelopment project be accorded essential project status, while also setting new completion deadlines for several key infrastructure projects across Mumbai, Thane, and Pune. At a review meeting held on Monday, the Chief Minister instructed that Mumbai Metro Line 2B, running from D.N. Nagar to Diamond Garden–Mandalay, be completed by 31 March 2027. He further directed that the Metro line from Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli be completed by 31 December 2026, and asked the Urban Development Department to resolve land-related issues at Shyam Nagar station within 15 days.
