Crash involving semi closes exit ramp, part of I

INDIANAPOLIS – A crash involving a semi slowed traffic on I-65 through Indianapolis on Friday morning.

According to an alert from the Indiana Department of Transportation, the incident was initially reported around 5:40 a.m.

A semi crashed on I-65 southbound near Illinois Street/Meridian Street. The exit ramp was closed as a result.

INDOT indicated the semi overturned onto the barrier wall on the overpass. The right lane of I-65 southbound was closed.

INDOT didn’t have an estimate on when the interstate and exit ramp would reopen. Indiana State Police have responded to the scene.
