PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - As the government shut down enters its 37th day, the Wraparound Center at Peoria Public Schools in Peoria is reminding the community about the services it offers and its upcoming events.
In 90 minutes, the center, located on the south side of Peoria on the Latrobe side of Trewyn Middle School, provided 150 families on Thursday with a box of food to take home.
Dr. Myskeshia Mitchell, the director of the Wraparound Center, said they have seen a slight increase in demand for their services.
“It’s hard out here, things are more expensive and people need help,” said Mitchell. “It’s not a low income problem, a middle income problem a whatever income problem, people need help.”
