Home sales in Hamilton took a nosedive last month, making for the quietest October for the local market in more than a decade.
The Cornerstone Association of Realtors reported Wednesday that just 463 homes sold in the city in October — marking a more than 17 per cent drop from October 2024 and the lowest sales numbers for the month in Hamilton since 2010.
October marked yet another sluggish month of sales for the local housing market this year, which began with a cautious start and seemingly has yet to return to a normal pace.
The association previously attributed the conditions to a lack of improvement in affordability and concerns around the trade war with the United States, which gave pause to some potential buyers.
