Kakabeka Falls Legion Branch 225 will again get the jump on Remembrance Day services this weekend.

As in previous years, the branch's ceremony is to be held on Sunday to coincide with a community breakfast that's offered before ceremonies start at 11 a.m.

"That's when all the folks are here," an organizer commented. About 200 people usually turn up at the Highway 11-17 branch's Sunday service.

Participants are encouraged to attend the larger ceremonies that are to take place in Thunder Bay on Nov. 11, when Remembrance Day is officially recognized across the country.

In Ottawa, the national ceremony begins at the National War Memorial at 10:30 a.m. It's to feature a 21-gun salute and a fly-past of four CF-18 Hornet military jets.
