Biocon Executive Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw on Friday criticised people for spitting in public places after sharing a video on X showing dirty tobacco stains outside the Malleshwaram Metro Station in Bengaluru.

“Filthy habits that must be called out and hefty fines imposed," she wrote while reposting the video.

The clip was captioned, “Look at the scene outside Malleshwara Metro Station… done by Karnataka auto walas standing outside metro."

Mazumdar-Shaw, who has been consistently vocal about civic issues in Bengaluru, including potholes and poor infrastructure, once again drew attention to the city’s lack of cleanliness and accountability.
