AURORA, Colo. (KKTV) - Three firefighters are recovering after a car reportedly crashed into their Fire engine on Thursday.

According to Aurora Fire Rescue (AFR), Engine 7 was responding to a medical emergency at noon with its lights and sirens activated.

AFR said that as the engine was making a U-turn, another vehicle continued driving and hit the front of the engine.

Three firefighters were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

According to the Aurora Police Department (APD), officers issued a summons to the driver of the vehicle, Javohir Asrorov, 20, for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, no registration, and no insurance.

AFR reminds drivers to watch out, slow down and move over for emergency vehicles.
