Mary Harron's adaptation of the Bret Easton Ellis novel American Psycho is one of the few films that managed to get better with age. The 2000 hit put Christian Bale on the map, birthed countless memes, and made '80s nostalgia cool. Kids nowadays quote the movie without knowing its context, much like we do with Shakespeare or Orwell, which is a sign of lasting art. So why didn't we ever see an American Psycho sequel in theaters? That's a good question. Hollywood's been waiting a quarter of a century to fully exploit the popularity.
