The New York Yankees are committed to holding onto Trent Grisham for as long as possible, or they at least plan to make things difficult for others to acquire him. On Thursday, the organization extended a $22 million qualifying offer to Grisham to keep him around for at least one more season.
This offer comes after the veteran outfielder had the best offensive season of his career. Grisham hit 34 home runs this past season and drove in 74 runs for the Bronx Bombers and was a pleasant surprise for the Yankees.
Most players would take the opportunity to bet on themselves in free agency, but now it is a possibility Grisham accepts the qualifying offer to stay with Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton .
