As the record-setting government shutdown continues, four of the nation’s largest airlines are cancelling hundreds of flights across 40 airports in high traffic areas. The FAA is hoping that the 4 percent cut in flights will ease the burden on air traffic controllers who are still working without pay 38 days into the government shutdown.
