Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday announced the cancellation of a controversial land deal in Pune that had been linked to his son, Parth Pawar.
The announcement came shortly after Pawar met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at his official residence in Mumbai.
The meeting, which lasted around 30 minutes, was also attended by NCP leaders Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare.
The development follows allegations made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who claimed that government land worth ₹1,800 crore, reserved for Dalits, had been sold to a minister’s son’s company for just ₹300 crore.
Gandhi further alleged that stamp duty was also waived, terming it "land theft by a government formed through vote theft."
