Members of Ibex Brigade commemorated 150 years of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ in forward areas of Uttarakhand as part of a nationwide year- long celebration on Friday. The historic event honours the timeless song composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in 1875 which played an inspirational role in India’s freedom movement and continues to evoke national pride and unity.

The commemoration included mass singing of the full version of Vande Mataram by troops deployed at forward posts, symbolising their patriotism and dedication to the motherland.
