The International Day of Radiology will take place on November 8 with the aim of building greater awareness of the value that radiology contributes to safe patient care and improving public understanding of the vital role radiologists and radiographers play in the healthcare continuum.

X-rays have become part of health care. Radiography has become an essential part of modern medicine. World Radiography Day is observed every year on 8 November. It marks the anniversary of the discovery of X-rays by Rontgen in 1895. Since Rontgen was not expecting the emission of these rays, and a surprise to him, he called them X-rays.
