Guests who attended the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum’s recent Day One luncheon witnessed an emotional moment of forgiveness and reconciliation for one national reporter.
Former news anchor Connie Chung came to town last week unsure she would be welcome, 30 years after the backlash she received for a question she asked on TV as a CBS News reporter assigned to cover the Oklahoma City bombing .
But she teared up and hugged Oklahoma City fire Chief Gary Marrs on stage when he offered grace and forgiveness 30 years in the making.
