STETSON, Maine (WABI) - A man with a lengthy criminal history is in custody after a Penobscot County K-9 was able to locate him in Stetson.
Thursday night, deputies went to Mullen Road in Stetson to try and find 40-year old Mackenzie Sibley for probation violations.
But when they arrived, authorities say Sibley barricaded himself in a bathroom. Deputies learned Sibley owned a large hunting style knife.
At some point Sibley was able to escape through a back door. Deputies chased after him but he got away in some nearby woods.
Deputies called in additional resources including K9 Memphis.
Authorities say the dog was able to lead them to Sibley, who was in a thick wooded area.
Sibley was arrested on the warrants as well as refusing to submit to arrest.
