SANTA FE, N.M. —
Santa Fe County is alerting residents that maintenance work at Nambe Dam will begin Friday at 10 a.m. and last about four hours.
The Pojoaque Valley Irrigation District will release large amounts of water during the project to ensure the dam's continued safety and proper operation.
Officials warn that the release could temporarily increase river flows and create stronger-than-normal currents downstream. Residents are urged to use caution near rivers, low-water crossings, and irrigation channels, as currents could make crossings dangerous.
