COLUMBIA, S.C. — Motorists in the south Columbia area should be aware of a major road closure scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, November 11-12, as crews from Southern Commercial Development, LLC, and Norfolk Southern Rail will be conducting maintenance on railroad tracks in the area.
Beginning at 2 a.m. Tuesday, Assembly Street between Catawba and Whaley streets will be closed and traffic rerouted through the Olympia neighborhood. Repairs are scheduled to be completed and Assembly Street reopened at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Motorists should expect delays and are asked to avoid the area, if possible.
Dates are subject to change due to weather and/or other unforeseen circumstances.
