NEW YORK (WBTV) - A former Carolina Panthers player said he has dealt with serious comments from sports bettors since betting became legal in recent years.
Graham Gano -- who was Carolina’s kicker from 2012-2018 and made the second-most field goals in franchise history -- talked about the hate on Nov. 6 when he discussed frustrations he has faced while battling recent injuries with the New York Giants.
“I hear everyone else’s frustration ... media, fans,” in the Giants’ locker room. “Shoot, ever since sports betting started happening, I get people telling me to kill myself every week. I’ll hit a kick that loses them money, I’ll miss a kick and lose them money. The other day someone told me to get cancer and die ... Playing this long, that stuff -- you’re used to it by now.”
