“Wally (head coach Greg Walters) has been preaching that since Day 1 – defence first – and I think everyone’s bought into that,” Spitfires’ fourth-year forward A.J. Spellacy said. “We always want to come out with a good defensive start, play fast and that leads to offence.”

It marked the 12th time in 19 games this season that the Spitfires (14-3-1-1) have held an opponent to one goal or fewer and the ninth time this season the club has held an opponent to 20 shots or fewer.
