Ottawa's second homelessness and addiction recovery treatment (HART) hub will be located in a strip mall in Bells Corners, in the city's west end.
The new HART hub at 2194 Roberston Rd. aims to open in "early 2026," according to a news release issued Friday.
"The launch of the HART hub reflects our commitment to meeting people with complex substance use needs with dignity, compassion, and timely care," wrote Tamara Chipperfield, CEO of the Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre, which applied to open a HART hub in October 2024 .
The HART hub model was introduced after the Ontario government banned supervised drug consumption sites near schools and child-care centres, forcing the closure of 10 facilities across the province.
