In a recent report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, it was revealed that Jayden Daniels did not suffer any ligament damage to the elbow that was dislocated in a Week 9 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.

No surgery will be needed for Daniels, and a return is expected sooner rather than later, although no timetable has been given. Rapoport would say that a trip to the Injured Reserve for Daniels also will not happen. Rapoport would say, "Commanders QB Jayden Daniels’ MRI and medical opinions revealed positive news, as his dislocated left elbow is not as serious as originally anticipated. There was no ligament damage, and he won't need surgery. Daniels will not be immediately placed on Injured Reserve."

With multiple factors to be considered for Washington and how the season plays out, Daniels will be re-evaluated in Week 12. One of which is whether or not the Commanders will even be in the playoff hunt. The organization will not want to rush Daniels back, although healthy, if the season has slipped away. The injury could have been much worse for Daniels and the Commanders' fans. Still, I am sure that the ones who know ball would not want to risk a re-injury to deter his career leading the Commanders as a perennial playoff contender, as they showed last season.
