CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. -- A man from Camden County accused of hitting and killing his roommate with a truck on a porch near Camdenton was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Thursday, Nov. 6.

Online court records state that 35-year-old Jordan Jones received a seven-year sentence for first-degree involuntary manslaughter and eight years for armed criminal action, with the sentences to be served consecutively. Jones pleaded guilty to the charges on Oct. 15, 2024.

Jones was accused of hitting his roommate, 43-year-old Michael Varney, with a truck and killing him on Aug. 30, 2022, at a residence on Georgene Road north of Camdenton.

Witnesses told police that Varney was struck on the front porch of his home by a truck, which was later determined to be driven by Jones, who fled the scene. Accordin
