SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Families on the Suncoast who make above the federal poverty level yet struggle to afford basic expenses are sounding the alarm as many are losing benefits. Those families are called ALICE , which stands for asset limited, income constrained, employed.

Jasmine Oliver, a Sarasota County resident and a mom of 4, wants to raise awareness about her situation. She said she works full-time at Baby Fox Academy of Florida in Lakewood Ranch. But once she got a dollar raise, she no longer qualified for SNAP benefits.
