BENTON — The Carmi-White County Bulldogs never trailed a single point the entire match, but still had to fight off a determined Massac County Patriots volleyball squad Thursday, 25-18, 27-25.

With the victory, the Bulldogs captured the Class 2A Benton Sectional championship and improved to 37-2 on the season, tying a school record for total wins. The sectional title marks the school’s third straight. The Bulldogs finished a school best fourth in state in 2023.
