BENTON, Ill. (WSIL) -- Franklin County Government received a $535,374.03 grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO).
This grant, part of DCEO’s Energy Transition Community Grant Program, aims to help communities manage the impacts of local energy plant or mine closures. It also supports projects aimed at enhancing Franklin County Government infrastructure as well.
"Franklin County is deeply honored to receive this funding from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity," said Neil Hargis, Chairman of the Franklin County Board. "This investment represents an important step forward in improving county government infrastructure while supporting much-needed updates to our county facilities."
