A cold front is likely to bring the first snowfall of the 2025-26 winter season as wind chills are expected to fall into the teens early next week.
Temperatures are expected to stay in the 50s and 60s Friday and parts of Saturday before the cold front — which is expected to reach the Chicago area by Saturday evening — brings temperatures into the 30s for most of the Chicago area.
Rain is expected to move into the Chicago area Saturday and may turn to a rain and snow mix as the cold front begins to move through into early Sunday, possibly resulting in half an inch of snowfall, according to the National Weather Service.
