SALEM, Va. (WDBJ) - A drive-through food-and-essentials drive has been scheduled for November 14 to help people impacted by the ongoing federal government shutdown .
The drive is being held by the Salem-Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce , Feeding SWVA and the Governor’s Virginia Cares Initiative .
The drive is set for Friday, November 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Salem Civic Center.
The Chamber says, “This community-wide effort will directly benefit thousands of federal workers, military civilian employees, contractors, and newly eligible SNAP families across Southwest Virginia who continue to face hardship during the ongoing federal government shutdown. Every donation collected will be distributed through the Feeding Southwest Virginia network to ensure no neighbor goes hu
