TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) -- Temperatures aren't the only thing expected to plummet in Florida during next week's cold snap - residents may spot iguanas falling from trees.
Notoriously, the tropical reptiles can become projectiles when their body temperature gets too cold.
After a warm weekend, temperatures in the Sunshine State are expected to drop to near (or even below) freezing in some spots, with 40-degree temperatures reaching as far south as Fort Myers. This could mean trouble for the state's nonnative species, like the green iguana, which are not acclimated to chillier climates.
