Kendrick Lamar leads the nominations for the 2026 Grammy Awards with nine nods, as announced by the Recording Academy on November 7. The Grammy ceremony will take place on February 1, 2026, in Los Angeles. Lady Gaga, along with producers Jack Antonoff and Cirkut, follows closely with seven nominations each. Bad Bunny, Leon Thomas, and Sabrina Carpenter each received six nominations.

The announcement was made during a livestream featuring several past Grammy winners, including Lizzo and Sam Smith. This year, the Grammys introduced two new categories: Best Album Cover and Best Traditional Country Album, while renaming the previous Best Country Album category to Best Contemporary Country Album.

Notably absent from the nominations are Taylor Swift and Lily Allen, whose albums were released after the eligibility window, which ran from August 31, 2024, to August 30, 2025.

In the top categories, Lamar is nominated for Record of the Year for his song "Luther," alongside other contenders such as "DtMF" by Bad Bunny and "Abracadabra" by Lady Gaga. The Album of the Year category includes Lamar's "GNX," Bad Bunny's "DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS," and Carpenter's "Man's Best Friend."

The Song of the Year nominations feature Lady Gaga's "Abracadabra," Doechii's "Anxiety," and Bad Bunny's "DtMF." The Best New Artist category includes Leon Thomas, Olivia Dean, and Katseye, among others.

Despite a challenging year for hip-hop commercially, the genre received significant recognition, with artists like Doechii, Clipse, and Tyler, the Creator each earning five nominations. In contrast, country music saw limited representation, with no nominations in the four all-genre categories.

The Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+ starting at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. The full list of nominees includes a wide range of categories, showcasing the diversity of talent in the music industry this year.
