HOWARD, Wis. (WFRV) - A tragic Thursday morning house fire in Howard has left two people and multiple pets dead.
The Howard Fire Department responded to several 911 calls reporting a structure fire just after 2:30 a.m. Thursday. When crews arrived, they found the home in the 1300 block of Rockwell Road fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters worked for hours to bring the blaze under control.
The fire completely destroyed the residence and caused moderate damage to a neighboring home. As a precaution, residents in nearby houses were temporarily evacuated while firefighters battled the flames and ensured the area was safe.
Authorities confirmed that two individuals and several pets were found dead inside the home. Their identities have not yet been released.
