SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Google is likely to payout a settlement agreement over a Utah-led complaint over "anticompetitive conduct," according to Utah Attorney General Derek Brown.
The lawsuit claimed Google had used its power to enter into "exclusive agreements" preventing companies from gaining access to key distribution channels. Attorney General Brown argued the agreements resulted in higher prices and fewer choices for developers and consumers.
"Google will have to pay consumers and substitutionally change its payment practices on the Google Play Store," Attorney General Brown's office said in a press release.
