Latinx Voces, a nonprofit organization aimed at advancing health equity in Latino communities, held a health summit in downtown Brownsville on Thursday.
Founder and Executive Director Dr. Paulina Sosa-Quintanilla says the goal of the event was to talk about health issues affecting the Latino community and ways to address those illnesses.
Sosa-Quintanilla says culture plays a big role in how people access information and get treatment.
The event drew about 500 participants, including health professionals, caregivers and community leaders.
