ALEXANDRIA — Prairie Lakes Audubon Chapter invites you to join them for this month’s meeting, which will feature Matt Barton, the urban conservation specialist with St. Louis Audubon Society.
The meeting will take place over Zoom on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m.
Barton oversees the BirdSafeSTL program, which seeks to establish long-term community relationships that support bird-safe practices and reduce bird fatalities in the St. Louis region.
Through documenting bird collisions with buildings during spring and fall migration, the program works to identify areas that experience high mortality and engage with property managers and stakeholders to improve existing conditions.
The program also advocates for bird-safe building practices with new developments.
