On Tuesday. John Schneider will learn whether or not he will join Bobby Cox as just the second Blue Jays skipper in history to be voted American League manager of the year.

And soon he’ll have increased job security to go with it as the team plans to extend Schneider’s contract following one of the most successful seasons in franchise history.

General manager Ross Atkins said the team has picked up the option on Schneider’s contract for 2026, which will be his fifth full season with the team. Beyond that, the two parties are working on a long-term arrangement.
