A mural memorializing conservative activist Charlie Kirk has popped up in Central El Paso.
The image showcases Kirk's face alongside an American flag and the word 'freedom,' and can be seen while traveling eastbound on Interstate-10 near Trowbridge Drive, on the exterior wall of Gun Central — a gun shop that's been in business in El Paso for more than a decade.
The mural's been up for less than a week, according to Cameron McIntyre, manager for Gun Central.
"It's a family-run gun store business, my parents own it and it was my parents' idea to put the mural up," McIntyre said. "We are just trying to honor Charlie Kirk and honor the work he did for freedom of speech and Second Amendment rights in the U.S."
Kirk, 31, was killed in September while speaking in front of some 3,000 people
