(WLNS) -- Michigan State men's ice hockey takes on No. 3 Penn State this weekend. MSU is 5-1 this season with a surprise loss to New Hampshire in the team's first game.

This weekend's contests are highly anticipated as freshman right winger Porter Martone, Philadelphia's first-round draft pick in 2025, will face off against 17-year-old phenom Gavin McKenna, who is expected to go first overall in the 2026 NHL Draft. Martone leads MSU in points with nine this season. Tommi Männistö leads the team in goals with five. Penn State is led in goals by Charlie Cerrato, who has 11 assists and four goals.
