Telus-owned Public Mobile is rolling out a new $34 plan with 60GB of 5G data , with nationwide unlimited talk and text, and unlimited data at reduced speed once the high-speed limit is reached — a first for the prepaid carrier.

The plan, offering speeds up to 250 Mbps on 5G, isn’t listed on Public Mobile’s website. Instead, it’s being quietly offered to existing customers who log in and select “Change Subscription” in their account.

Normally, once you use up your data bucket on Public Mobile , data will stop working unless you purchase more. But once you’ve used up your 60GB of 5G data in this plan, you can continue using unlimited data, but speeds drop to a maximum of 512 Kbps.
