BETHEL TWP., MI — An intense fire gutted a two-story wood home at 455 W. Chicago Road early Friday, Nov. 7.
Central Dispatch received the first call at 4:47 a.m.
Bronson Fire Chief Scott Wilber said his trucks and those from Coldwater, with automatic mutual aid, arrived simultaneously.
The chief said Coldwater made entry through the front door but was pushed back by heavy flames.
The amount of materials inside the home made fighting the blaze difficult.
A garage outside and two vehicles were on fire when the trucks arrived.
The chief requested that Michigan State Police Fire Marshals, who arrived at midmorning, begin an investigation.
Wilber said no other details can be released at this time.
Tanker mutual aid came from Lakeland, Sherwood, Union City, Colon, and Burr Oak fire depar
