ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (WFLA) — St. Johns County Sheriff's Office said its deputies chased and arrested a driver accused of pointing a firearm at a woman and threatening her with it on Wednesday.

SJSO said a deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle after a citizen advised that she was in an altercation with the driver.

"I just had a woman come to me, advising that a male, in the car in front of me, just pointed a gun to her head," an officer said over the radio.

The driver, David Jordan Lucas, struck several vehicles while fleeing from deputies before he stopped near an intersection, SJSO said.

According to body camera footage, a deputy ordered Lucas to "crawl out" of his vehicle through the passenger side.
