CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed another person in the chest on a CATS city bus in Charlotte on Thursday afternoon.
The Nov. 6 stabbing happened when the bus was near North Tryon Street and Ashby Street, right outside Uptown.
An affidavit said the bus driver and several riders saw 57-year-old James Bennett get on the bus and start following another man to the front and back of the vehicle.
Some witnesses said they saw Bennett and the other man arguing, and one witness allegedly heard the man ask Bennett why he was following him. A witness also reported that Bennett had an open container of alcohol. At some point, when the two men were at the front of the bus, Bennett allegedly thrust a knife into the other man’s chest.
